The Gloaming Guild
Description
The Gloaming Guild operates in the twilight spaces between the established order and the old powers that predate the current regime, a secretive revolutionary organization whose true goals remain shrouded in shadow and contradiction. What began as understanding them as worshippers of Volsteth, the Prince of Lies, has evolved into something darker and more cosmic—a fellowship dedicated to the ancient entity Bolstice, lord of death and the passages between life and what lies beyond. The Guild walks a razor's edge between its stated idealism and cosmic horror, orchestrating dramatic breakouts from the Crown's prisons while simultaneously claiming their purpose is not to tear down the system entirely but to "shuffle things." Led by mysterious figures like the enigmatic Talon Rustfeld and counseled by Azriel, who seems to possess supernatural attunement to the resurrection of old powers, the organization has woven itself into the lives of several party members—Calum's very existence is tied to their concerns, and Thalara has been deliberately targeted for recruitment. Their senior members claim the ability to sense when new beings touched by ancient entities come into existence, suggesting a level of connection to forces far beyond mortal politics. The organization represents a genuine threat to the established order; Lady Ruben and the Inquisition have spent considerable effort trying to stamp them out, and even the resourceful Lady Aurelia views them with mixed calculation—they could be enemies, tools, or both simultaneously. Whether the Guild truly understands the powers they invoke, or whether they're playing with forces that will ultimately consume their idealistic revolution, remains one of the great questions haunting the campaign.
